Oneida, TN (2008-10-06) The Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA) will hold a “Did You Know” Workshop Thursday at the Scott County Senior Citizens Center in Oneida.
Vivian Michael-Wilhoite, a field representative from TRA will hold an informative workshop on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Scott County Senior Citizens Center in Oneida. The purpose of the workshop is to inform community residents, community leaders, social service organizations, clergies and church groups, Title I and social workers, school officials, senior citizens groups, and city and state officials about the many programs available to them.
The hour long workshop will feature a variety of topics, including how to get a break on your telephone bill with Link-up or Lifeline programs; and how to get free telephone equipment like amplifiers, large print telephones and TTY’s for anyone who has difficulty using a traditional telephone, especially a person who has a significant hearing, speech and/or hearing and visual impairment.
The program will also instruct attendees how to sign up and get o the Tennessee “Do Not Call” list to stop telemarketers and how persons 65 and older can receive no-charge telephone directory assistance.
A light lunch will be served.
