Winfield Man Charged With Trio Of Burglaries

Winfield, TN (2011-01-04) A Winfield faces multiple charges for allegedly perpetrating three home burglaries in the Winfield Community last month.

Carlos Brandon Green, 26, of Winfield was arrested on December 29, 2010 following a collaborative investigation by the Winfield Police Department and the Scott County Sheriff’s Department into three burglaries in the Winfield area.

According to an arrest warrant filed by Investigator J. Brad Lay of the Winfield Police Department, Green, who was detained by Lay on an outstanding probation violation warrant for the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, allegedly admitted to county authorities to breaking into one Winfield residence twice, while confessing to Winfield officers to burglarizing a second home in the same neighborhood a week earlier.

On December 28, 2010, Green allegedly kicked in the front door of a Scott Highway residence and burglarized it; taking loose change and prescription narcotic medications.  The following morning, Green allegedly returned to the same house, reportedly taking a handgun, jewelry and silver coins.

Acting on information provided by Green, Detective Randy Lewallen of the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, who conducted the initial interview with him, recovered many of the stolen items, which had been pawned locally.

During a subsequent interview with Investigator Lay, Green allegedly admitted to a pre-Christmas burglary in the same neighborhood.  On December 23, 2010, authorities claim Green entered another home in the same area, where allegedly he took power tools and electrical wiring.  Green reportedly pawned the tools at a Kentucky pawn shop, while he allegedly melted the covering from the wire and sold it at a Kentucky scrap yard.

Green was charged with aggravated burglary (two counts), burglary, and theft of less than $500 (three counts).
