SCSD Arrests Four In Connection With
Pair Of Active Meth Labs
Huntsville, TN (2011-01-25) Over
the last two weeks, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department has arrested four
persons in connection with a pair of active methamphetamine labs. Since September, the Sheriff’s Department has
discovered 11 meth labs in Scott
County.
Jonathan
Crowley, 19, and Derek Byrge, 21, both of Huntsville were arrested on Monday at an Oneida residence following an investigation
into a complaint about a suspected meth lab on Peaceful Lane. The pair, along with a third suspect which
fled the scene, was allegedly in possession of a fully functional meth
lab. While he initially eluded
authorities, the third person, identified as Timothy “TJ” Duncan,
20, of Oneida,
was arrested at a residence in Winfield.
The trio was charged with manufacturing meth, initiating the process of
manufacturing meth, promotion of the manufacture of meth, possession of drug
paraphernalia and felony possession of more than 0.5 grams of meth.
On
Tuesday, January 18, 2011, officers seized another active meth lab in the Killbeck
Cemetery area of
Robbins. James York, Jr., 24, of Robbins
was allegedly caught in the process of manufacturing meth. York
was charged with promotion of the manufacture of meth, initiating the process
to manufacture meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia. York
is being held in the Scott County Jail without bond for violating community
corrections.
The
Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force and a crew from Eagle HazMat
assisted officers from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department with the proper
clean-up and disposal of both labs.
Since
September, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department has discovered eleven meth
labs in Scott County, a statistic that Scott County
Sheriff Mike Cross and Chief Deputy Ronnie Phillips attributed to the hard work
and determination of the department’s narcotics officers and deputies.
