County Schools To Begin Formal Process To Select New Director

Huntsville, TN (2011-02-10) The Scott County Board of Education Thursday night set the stage for finding a new Director of Schools.

At it’s regularly schedule meeting Thursday night, the Scott County Board of Education formally accepted Director Sharon Wilson’s notice of retirement. Wilson, who had already announced her intentions to retire at the Board’s work session last week, gave formal notice that her last day on the job would be June 30, 2011, the final day of her current contract.

With Wilson’s retirement pending, the Board has set a special called meeting for Wednesday, February 16, 2011 to discuss the process for identifying and hiring her replacement. The meeting will be held at the system’s central office at 11:30 a.m.

According to Board Chairman James D. Sexton, the Board will consider the criteria for hiring, the period of time to advertise the vacancy, deadline for receiving curriculum vitae, dates for evaluating the applicants and the anticipated hire date.
