Helenwood Woman Succumbs To Burn Injuries

 

            Nashville, TN (2011-04-01) A Helenwood woman who was seriously burned in a residential house fire in March has reportedly succumbed to her injuries.

            Amy Byrd Ellis, 33, of Helenwood passed away late Thursday night in the burn center of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where had been since the tragic fire at her home on Helenwood Loop Road on March 24, 2011.

            According to reports, Ellis suffered significant burns, especially to her upper body, when she entered her burning home to reportedly retrieve a family pet.  The blaze reportedly started from a grease fire in the kitchen.  The home was destroyed.
