Baggett Finalist For
Loudon County Director’s Job

(2011-04-07) Outgoing Oneida Special School District Director S. Henry
Baggett has been named a finalist for the Director’s job in Loudon County.
Henry
Baggett, Director of the Oneida Special School District,
has been named one of five finalists for the Director of Schools post in Loudon County. At a meeting of the Loudon County Board of
Education on Monday, April 4, 2011, Baggett reportedly was chosen to be one of
five finalists selected by the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) for
the school district’s top job. Although
chosen by the selection committee, the Loudon County School Board will hold a
special called meeting tonight (April 7) to either accept or reject the
committee’s recommendation. It is also
expected to adopt the procedure for interviewing, scoring and selecting a new
Director.
Interviews with
the finalists have tentatively been set for Friday, April 15, 2011.
The
Loudon County School Board is expected to narrow the scope of its search to two
candidates during a special called meeting on Monday, April 18, 2011.
Other
candidates suggested for the post included:
Michael Lupo of Marion, S.C., Superintendent of
Marion School District One and Two in Marion, S.C.; Jason Vance, Assistant
Director of Loudon County Schools; Gerald Miller, Principal of Nolachuckey School in Greene County; and Keevin Woody, Principal of Midway School in the Roane
County.
