Stanley Named Outstanding Practitioner Of The Year

Nashville, TN (2011-04-21) Representatives from the Tennessee Primary Care Association presented their annual Awards of Excellence to health care leaders last week at their 2nd Clinical Conference. Betty Stanley, Family Nurse Practitioner at Mountain People’s Health Councils, Inc. was named the Outstanding Practitioner of the Year for demonstrating exceptional leadership, community involvement, and dedication to patient care.

Stanley was presented the Outstanding Practitioner Award for her lifelong dedication to the people of Northeastern Tennessee and Southeastern Kentucky. She has served as a nurse practitioner for over 30 years with much of that time as an employee of Mountain People’s Health Councils, Inc.

“Her patients respect and love her,” said James Lovett, CEO of Mountain People’s Health Councils, Inc. “She exemplifies the type of provider everyone wants at their clinic. She is truly a selfless and caring individual that has always put the patient first.  For Betty, her responsibilities as a nurse practitioner are not just a job but a calling to help others in need.   She simply will not stop until her patients receive the care they need and deserve.  Betty is a tremendous asset to Mountain People’s and, more importantly, to the patients she serves.”

“We are delighted to honor Betty with this award,” said Kathy Wood-Dobbins, CEO of the Tennessee Primary Care Association. “Providers like Betty are the reason Community Health Centers are different from your average doctor’s office. She is a true inspiration.”
