Oneida School Board Schedules Director Applicant Interviews

Oneida, TN (2011-04-22) The Oneida Special School District Board of Education has scheduled interviews with the four persons who have applied for the Director of Schools job.

In a special-called work session on Friday morning, the Oneida Special School District Board of Education set interviews with the four persons that have made application for the Director of Schools position for Tuesday, April 26, 2011. In an effort to treat all applicants equally, the Board conducted a random drawing to establish the sequence of interviews. As result of that balloting, candidates will be interviewed in the following order: Dwight Murphy, Rick Harper, Dr. Joseph Miller, and Ann Daugherty. Interviews will begin at 5:00 p.m.

Following the interviews, the Board will plot its future path, including, but not limited to, the possibility of conducting a more in-depth interview with one or more applicants, the calling of a special-called work session to further discuss the applicants or a special-called meeting to hire a Director.

Murphy was a former school teacher, former County Mayor, and is currently the Director of the Tennessee Technology Center at Oneida/Huntsville. Harper has held many positions with the Oneida School System, including teacher, coach and high school principal. He is currently the district’s Consolidated School Health Coordinator. Dr. Miller is currently the Assistant Principal at Sunbright High School. Daugherty is currently a part-time Supervisor of Instruction for the system.

Director of Schools Henry Baggett’s current contact will expire on June 30, 2011.
