Huntsville Man Sought By Sheriff’s Department

 

            Huntsville, TN (2011-05-19) The Scott County Sheriff’s Department is actively searching for a Huntsville man accused of attacking his ex-mother-in-law, threatening her grandson, and stealing her vehicle.  Authorities also want to question him on a recent break-in at an area church.

            Donnie Hugh Carroll, 34, of Huntsville is wanted on an outstanding warrant for allegedly attacking his ex-mother-in-law with a knife, verbally threatening her grandson and fleeing in her SUV.  According to an incident report filed with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Carroll allegedly went to the home of his ex-mother-in-law on Sunday and got into a physical altercation with her.  Carroll allegedly held a knife to the victim’s throat and threatened to harm her three-year-old grandson.  During the struggle, the victim was able to break free of her attacker.  She reportedly fled the residence with the toddler and called authorities.

            Carroll reportedly fled the scene in the victim’s SUV.  Carroll’s vehicle was reportedly found about a mile from the victim’s house and confiscated by the Sheriff’s Department.

            In addition to the assault, authorities also want to question Carroll about a break-in at the Antioch Baptist Church on Saturday.  In the burglary, several items were taken from the church, including the church covenant and pictures of Jesus.

            Carroll is described as a 5’ 9” white male, weighing 150 pounds.  He has brown hair and eyes.  Authorities consider him armed and dangerous.
