Winfield Pair Picked Up In Sexual
Predator Roundup
With thunder and lightning filling the night sky and brief bursts of heavy rain blanketing the landscape, few persons were stirring last Thursday night; however, Scott County Sheriff Mike Cross and a team of law enforcement officers from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department gathered in Huntsville late last Thursday night to plan an operation to locate and arrest several persons accused of committing sexual crimes and those who had not complied with terms of their release.
Anthony W. Terry, 38, and Edward A. Burchfield, 43, both of Winfield, were picked up early Friday morning by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department during a round up of persons accused of committing sexual crimes. According to a warrant for his arrest, Terry was wanted on nine counts of aggravated statutory rape, while Burchfield was accused of one count of the same crime. Bail for Terry was set at $150,000, while Burchfield’s bond was set at $100,000.
In addition to
Terry and Burchfield, the Sheriff’s Department also located and arrested Doyle
W. Clark.
