Four Arrested In Drug Raid At Winfield Residence

Winfield, TN (2011-07-11) A trio of Winfield residents and an out-of-state suspect were arrested last week at a home behind a popular Winfield bar following a raid by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.

Nicholas Allen Dayson, 25, Dillan Dayson, 20, and Gary Randolph Robinson, Jr., 19, of Winfield, and Patchen Patrick Gates, 22, of Calhoun, GA were arrested last Wednesday in a drug raid by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.  Acting on information that illegal drugs were being sold from a trailer behind Misfits Bar in Winfield, undercover agents from Sheriff’s Department attempted to purchase illegal narcotics from a couple sitting on the front porch.  The pair purported they had nothing to sell, but agents allegedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana.  Acting on that information, Drug Agent Kris Lewallen and Sgt. Danny Phillips reportedly approached the residence.  As officers converse with the couple, the other suspects arrived in a red Chevy Blazer.  With more suspects on the scene, other officers, including Scott County Sheriff Mike Cross, Chief Deputy Ronnie Phillips, Deputy Dennis Chambers and Deputy Toby Jeffers, who had been watching the scene, converged on the home.

A subsequent search of the suspects revealed a variety of drugs and illegal weapons.  Gates, who consented to a search of his person by Sheriff Cross, was found in the possession of 3.5 grams of methamphetamine.  The illegal drugs, stated authorities, were found in a hollowed-out compartment inside the suspect’s boot.  Authorities also reportedly found a knife in his boot.  In addition, Gates reportedly had a pair of brass knuckles.  Gates was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance (meth) for resale, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Robinson, likewise a passenger in the vehicle, was also charged following the alleged discovery of approximately .2 of a gram of meth ice, drugs the suspect allegedly had attempted to hide in a soft drink can inside the SUV.  Robinson was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Dayson and Dayson were each charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance (Percocet).
