Winfield Man Arrested On Child Sex

Mark Wayne Chitwood, 51, of Winfield was jailed on October 22, 2011 on allegations of having inappropriate sexual contact with a pair of young females, one less than 10 years of age. On Monday, two additional cases were lodged against Chitwood, each charging him with an additional three counts of sexual misconduct with two new victims.
On October 22, 2011, Chitwood was jailed on allegations of having inappropriate contact with two females over the course of the last year. In those cases, Chitwood is accused of inappropriate touching the girls, along with photographing at least one child in the bathtub. He was also accused of using “a torch to burn the hair off (the victim’s body)”. He would then use sandpaper to remove any excess hair, claimed the warrant.
On the new charges, Chitwood is accused of inappropriately sexual contact with two additional female victims, both nine years old.
On at least three occasions, Chitwood is accused of sleeping in the same bed with the victims.
On Monday, Chitwood was charged with six additional counts of aggravated sexual battery. He was originally charged with aggravated sexual battery (two counts), solicitation of a minor (two counts), and unlawful photographing in violation of privacy.
Chitwood is currently being housed in the Scott County Jail. His bond is set at $250,000.
