Winfield Man Accepts Plea Deal In Child Sex Abuse Case
Mark Wayne Chitwood, 51, of Winfield pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual battery in Scott County Criminal Court on Monday. Chitwood had been accused of having inappropriate sexual contract with three female victims, all of under the age of 10. Chitwood had originally been charged with eight counts of aggravated sexual battery, solicitation of a minor (two counts), and unlawful photographing in violation of privacy.
Per the agreement, Chitwood was sentenced to twelve years on each count. The sentences will be served concurrently, meaning his total effective sentence was twelve years. Since he was classified as a violent offender, Chitwood will have to serve the entire sentence without the possibility of early parole.
