Oneida Brothers Booked On Meth Charges

Oneida, TN (2012-01-02) Two Oneida brothers have been arrested on felony drug charges after Oneida authorities allegedly found a meth lab at their Oneida home.

Eric J. Pannett, 30, and his brother Jason M. Pannett, 27, both of 338 Lafayette Street in Oneida, were booked Friday night by the Oneida Police Department on a host of drug charges following a search of the pairs’ mobile home in Slaven’s Rentals.

According to an arrest warrant filed K-9 Officer Steven Ward, the Oneida Police Department, acting on complaints, went to the Pannetts’ trailer Friday afternoon to investigate allegations of drug activity.  On the front porch, authorities allegedly found precursors of the meth making process, along with a one-step meth lab inside a plastic bottle inside a cardboard box.  The bottle, stated the warrant, still had smoke coming from it.  Inside the house, authorities allegedly found Jason Pannett in a back bedroom of the home.  From the room and the suspect’s person, authorities allegedly recovered drugs and drug paraphernalia, including a Suboxone tablet.

The brothers were booked on charges of initiation of the process to manufacture methamphetamine and violation of the drug free school zone act.  The mobile home, stated authorities, was only 40 yards away from property owned by the Oneida Special School District.

Jason Pannett was also charged with possession of Suboxone, a schedule III controlled substance, possession of Phetermine, a schedule IV controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The brothers are currently being held in the Scott County Jail.  Bond for Jason Pannett was set at $60,000 secure, while bail for Eric Pannett was set at $40,000.
