Scott County Awarded Hub Spoke Grant

Nashville, TN (2013-12-23) Scott County was one of nine communities across the state to receive a Hub and Spoke grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to purchase recycling equipment.

“We are pleased to fund these projects through the state’s Solid Waste Management Fund,” Martineau said. “These grants promote and increase recycling across the state and engage partnerships among counties and municipalities,” he added.

Locally, Scott County, in partnership with the Towns of Oneida, Huntsville and Winfield, received an $114,118 Hub and Spoke Grant for the purpose of purchasing recycling trailers and a plastic perforator, along with funds to expand the recycling center in Huntsville to accommodate the anticipated additional recyclables.
