Where were you born and raised?  Born in Harlan County, KY, a mining community called Bardo (doesn’t exist anymore).

Give us a brief history before Hive 105.  Started in radio as a file clerk at WLAF LaFollette 1958.  Moved to WYSH Clinton in 1960.  Returned to WLAF after 2 year Army duty.  Came here 1969.

How did you arrive at Hive 105?  Purchase of station from Scott Broadcasting Company 1969.  Arrived as Station Manager, General Manager.

What’s your favorite part about being at Hive 105?  It’s all I know.

What do you like to do off the air?  Work around the house, play golf, church work

Have a family (pets count)?  Wife – Kelly, daughters – Kimberly, Tammy, & Kristy (Kimberly Burress & Robbie, Tammy Martin & Dale).  My pets are three granddaughters and a grandson.

What is the one thing you can’t live without?  My Lord and my family.

It’s time for your last meal…what do you eat?  Anything that’s not fat and doesn’t taste good.

Give us a brief history before Hive 105.  I’ve held a variety of jobs including airbrush artist, grocery clerk and factory worker.  Since all these jobs seem like real work, I decided to pursue a job in radio.

How did you arrive at Hive 105?  In the middle of the night.

What’s your favorite part about being at Hive 105?  The radio frequency burns and S-VHS solder joints.

What do you like to do away from work?  Away from work?!?  I’m on call 24-7.

Have a family (pets count)?  Married—Renee Loudin Strunk; three sons—Dillon, Dalton and Dawson

What is the one thing you can’t live without?  NASCAR and Lynyrd Skynyrd

It’s time for your last meal…what do you eat?  Outback N.Y. Strip Steak w ‘shrooms, baked potato, house salad and an ice-cold beverage.

What’s your favorite part about being at Hive 105?  Being able to talk to the folks of the area

What do you like to do off the air? Sleep…travel…sleep again.

Give us a brief history before Hive 105.  Retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 2000 after 27 years.  Before that, I lived 8 years in Charleston, SC

How did you arrive at Hive 105? Luck

What do you like to do off the air? Watch TV – Sports, play Horse Shoes, and Golf

Have a family (pets count)? Married – Linda.  3 daughters – Linda, Robbie, Ann Marie.  2 stepchildren – Ricky & Lisa.  1 granddaughter – Jordan, and 2 step grandchildren – Chelsie & Little Ricky

What is the one thing you can’t live without?  I try not to be dependent that I could not live without something

How did you arrive at Hive 105? Moved August 2001 and begged for a job

What’s your favorite part about being at Hive 105? Talking to and meeting listeners and getting Paul’s lunch daily

What do you like to do off the air? Referee basketball, racing, and eating

Give us a brief history before Hive 105. There’s a difference between living and living well.  Before the Hive, I was living well.

How did you arrive at Hive 105? I drove my truck.

What’s your favorite part about being at Hive 105? You know when you’re listening to the radio in your car and say “I hate this song”… I don’t say that anymore.

What do you like to do off the air? Sports, Jeep riding and pretty much anything outdoors.

Have a family (pets count)? I love my mama!

What is the one thing you can’t live without? A 4X4 (Blood, Sweat & Gears)

When are you on the air?

Where were you born and raised? Ypsilanti, Michigan…30 miles east of Detroit.

Give us a brief history before Hive 105. My family is from Scott County so I moved “Back Home” 7 years ago.  Worked at Levi’s in Powell for the last 6 and a half years

How did you arrive at Hive 105? Had college classes in Journalism and Broadcast Communications.  Plus, I use English as a second language

What’s your favorite part about being at Hive 105? The Friday Night Timewarp.  It’s fun digging up something and hearing someone say “That was favorite song” or “I haven’t heard that song in 20 years”

What do you like to do off the air? Sleep…I don’t do it much.  It’s fun to try it from time to time.

Have a family (pets count)? I have a wife, April and have been married since December 2000, daughter Haley, 16, just got her driver’s license and a son Josh, 20.

What is the one thing you can’t live without?

It’s time for your last meal…what do you eat? Slow cooked BBQ pork ribs, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, soft dinner rolls with LOTS of butter.
